Study on effect of root-promoting fertilizer on growth and quality of flue-cured tobacco.

The field plot experiment was carried out in 2011 to study the effect of root-promoting fertilizer on root development,botanical characters,and quality of flue-cured tobacco in Wulong county of Chongqing city.The results showed that the roots and botanical characters in W 1 and W4 treatments were better than that in other treatments.The volume,fresh weight,and dry matter weight of root in W1 treatment(105 d) were increased by 20.95%,99.69% and 22.62% respectively compared with that of CK.The quality of flue-cured tobacco leaves with higher potassium content met the requirements of high quality tobacco when using root-promoting fertilizer.The potassium content in the upper,middle,and down leaves of W5 treatment was increased by 0.31%,0.42% and 0.23% respectively as well.
