The isotone shift in muonic X-rays in the tin region

Abstract The energies of the K and L muonic X-rays of six isotones in the region of tin ( Z = 50) have been measured, and the change in nuclear size on adding protons has been calculated. The effect of nuclear shell closing at Z = 50 is substantial.
