A nematological survey carried out on the soils of the Alhmabra and Generalife of Granada showed the presence in their forests, gardens and nurseries of parasitic nematodes of cultivated and wild plants. It is suspected the general existence of nematological problems of variable seriousness, which, on localized sites evident by the poor the whole area, become evident by the poor growth and even the death of diferent plants. Larvae of Coleoptera (wireworms) seem to play a role on cases of sudden death of cypresses. These problems mentioned above spoil th otherwise gorgeous green frame of such universal monuments.
