COGNITIVE ASSESSMENT OF NEW TYPE OF TEACHING VIDEO PERCEPTION BY SECONDARY COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL STUDENTS

2013
From the position of psychophysiology, teaching videos on various topics of biology have been created where specific characteristics of video information perception have been taken into account. Teaching videos were shown to 9-10 grades of secondary comprehensive school students. As a comparator, standard teaching videos on the same subjects were shown to a control group of senior grade students. The success of the video development was assessed directly by test questions and by the degree of synchronization processes of student blinking - a cognitive perception of the video. It emerged that, according to the test and cognitive assessments, the absorbing of the material by the students (both by males and females) increased by more than one and a half compared to the control group. This research confirms the importance of psycho-physiological approach in creation of teaching videos.
