Photostimulated processes in the Y3Al5O12:Ce single crystals under nanosecond optical excitation
1989
Abstract The origin of photoinduced transient absorption in YAG:Ce 3+ single crystals at room temperature was investigated. The comparison of previously published data and the results of our experiments lead to the conclusion that transient absorption is due to electron F + centres formed by a photostimulated charge-transfer process involving F 2+ -anion vacancy in the vicinity of Ce 3+ ion.
