Effects of salinity, light intensity and temperature on photosynthesis in alga Cladophera expansal

2008
The effects of salinity, light intensity and water temperature on photosynthesis in alga Cladophera expansal were studied by light and dark bottle technique in this experiment. The results showed that the photosynthesis was inhibited at a salinity of below 10 or above 40,while the respiration fluctuated slightly at the whole salinity regimes(0.38-60).The light saturation point and compensation point were 19.2 klx and 541 lx at 21 ℃,respectively. The net oxygen production rate was equivalent to the oxygen consumption rate at 39.2 ℃,but the oxygen production rate was higher at 34.5 ℃.The respiration was enhanced with increase in temperature.
