Swallowing disorder in neurological diseases

2007
Swallowing is a complex biological mechanism which is mainly controlled by the central nervous system. The recent development in diagnostic technologies provides a clearer understanding of swallowing physiology than in the past. Integration of clinical knowledge and the recent advances in neuropathophysiology of swallowing disorder will bring a better understanding of the mechanism, causes, and also the practical means for medical care and follow-up including prognosis.
