Effect of Qi-activating and Spleen-strengthening Therapy on Serum Gastrin Content in Rats with Spleen-deficiency Syndrome

Objective To observe the effect of Qi-activating and spleen-strengthening therapy on serum gastrin (GAS)content in rats with spleen-deficiency system.Methods Sixty rats were randomized into 6 groups:normal group,model group,Si Junzi Decoction(SJD)group,Danggui Buxue Decoction(DBD)group,Huangqi Si Junzi Decoction(HSJD)group,and DBD +SJD group.The rat model of spleen deficiency was induced by Qi-breaking bitter-taste herbs and alternation of starvation and gorge.Radioimmunological method was used to detect the serum GAS content.Results GAS content in the model group was decreased obviously(P0.05 compared with the normal group),and was increased in the medication groups(P0.05 compared with the model group).The effect of HSJD,DBD + SJD,SJD and DBD on the increase of GAS was in a decreasing sequence.Conclusion The therapeutic mechanism of Qi-activating and spleen-strengthening therapy for spleen-deficiency syndrome is related to the increase of serum GAS.
