Tumors of the hand
2012
Tumors on the hand consist of a range of benign and malignant growths. Fortunately, the majority of the tumors on the hand are benign. Furthermore, malignant tumors of the hand mainly arise from the epidermis and can be surgically excised. Some tumors may present at a higher rate on the hand due to risk factors such as human papillomavirus infection, chronic sun exposure or trauma. Conversely, others may occur less frequently or at the same rate as elsewhere on the body. Both common and rare tumors that occur on the hand are discussed in this article.
