PURPOSE: A method for implementing an additional extended feature in an image forming apparatus is provided to improve the convenience of a user in using an image forming apparatus by improving compatibility of the application corresponding to an additional extended feature. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(110) receives an application corresponding to an additional extended feature from an external storage medium. An application installation unit(150) installs the received application using one of multiple operating systems. A display unit(161) displays a menu for indicating at least one application. An input unit(162) receives the input information for selecting the additional extended feature from the displayed menu.
