A method for generating random numbers in a radio station comprising: - receiving a receive signal; - tapping off a noise component of a digital received signal immediately after an analog-to-digital conversion of the received signal; - deriving the random numbers from the tapped directly after the analog-to-digital conversion noise component of the digital reception signal.
