The histocompatibility (HLA) antigen distribution in multiple sclerosis patients in Zimbabwe.
1980
40 white Zimbabwean multiple sclerosis patients were HLA typed and their antigen frequencies compared to a control group of 705 white South Africans. HLA-A9 was found to show the greatest increased deviation in the patient group. HLA-A29, B7 and B17 were also increased in the patient group. HLA-Al was decreased and HLA-A28 was completely absent.
