Scrutinizing the properties of functionalized graphene based polymer nanocomposites for electronic devices

2016
Abstract This paper reports the possibility of using f-graphene for enhancing the properties of polymer based nanocomposite. Functionalized graphene/PVDF nanocomposistes films were prepared by mixing of functionalized graphene with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) using solvent casting method. The films prepared using different weight percentage of graphene were analysed using XRD, FTIR, UV-DRS and FE-SEM to know their grain size, lattice strain, transmittance, optical and surface morphology. The films were also examined to know its I-V characteristics, resistivity and conductivity behavior. The electronic properties of the f-graphene/PVDF films were examined at various temperatures to know the stability of the film. The results shows that there is possibility to scrutinize the properties of polymer based nanocomposites to use it in wide range of applications including electronics and as sensors in industries and as pressure sensors in biomedical field.
