Families as first teachers: Engaging families, strengthening learning and successful transitions

All parents want the best start for their children when they begin school. Many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children face a number of complexities which can prevent successful transition from the home to formal education settings. Early education provides a platform to develop and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to overcome generational disadvantage and engage further in their child's learning.
