Detection method of highly turbulent regions in the atmosphere using the backscattering enhancement effect

2020
By numerical analysis, we had shown the backscattering enhancement factor depends on the location of a strong turbulence region on the sounding path. The effect is maximal if the atmospheric turbulence layer is at the end of the sensing path. As the layer shifts toward the middle of the path, the maximum value of the amplification factor decreases significantly.
