A comparative study in the evaluation of 5 mm forceps biopsy to 2 mm and 3,5 mm forceps biopsy

Using the 2 mm standard forceps endoscopic gained bioptical material often is too small for sufficient investigation. There have been compared the efficiency of a new 5 mm forceps to a smaller 3.5 mm and 2 mm standard forceps. The 5 mm forceps is able to deliver bigger bioptical material and reaches in more than 50% the lamination of the submucosa. The risks of complication are not higher incomparison to the smaller forceps. Therefore the big forceps is indicated in solving difficult bioptical problems and also she is indicated in the treatment of small polypoid lesions.
