Optimisation threshold parameters of multiple quantum well infra-red photodetector

1991
Detectivity of the multiple quantum well photodetector has been calculated in the background limited infra-red performance. Depolarisation effects have been taken into account. It is shown that detectivity depends nonmonotonically on the concentration of electrons in wells, a phenomenon resulting from depolarisation effects. As a result, an optimal concentration of a doping impurity which corresponds to the maximum of detectivity exists.
