Efeito antagônico de arachis pintoi sobre Meloidogyne incognita raça 2 em solo de mata e solo esterilizado

2001
The behavior ofArachis pintoi in the presence of Meloidogyne incognita race 2, in natural forest soil and in sterilized soil, was verified through the penetration of second stage juvenile (J2) in the root system, weight of roots, presence of galls and egg masses by g of roots and number of J2 in the soil. The effect of plant parts of A. pintoi incorporated and not incorporated into the soil to control the nematodes was also evaluated, with the tomato plant Rutgers' as the control. After 45 days of the tomato planting date the fresh root weight, the number of galls and egg masses were determined in both tomato and A. pintoi root system. The A. pintoi system examined through the coloration method showed that the juveniles did not penetrate them. Regardless of treatment, A. pintoi did not favor the formation of galls and egg masses as compared to the controls (tomato plants). When A. pintoi was incorporated, it reduced the number of galls and egg masses by g of tomato roots. Arachis pintoi may be recommended as an additional practice by intercropping with other plants or as a cover crop.
