The Nullabor Project: An outline

1989
In 1986 the Department of Environment and Planning commissioned an investigation into the heritage values of the Nullarbor Plains. The work was managed by Bob Ware for the Aboriginal Heritage Branch SA (DEP). The study was originally conducted by Anutech Pty Ltd, and more recently by National Heritage Studies Pty Ltd. The project is proving to be one of the more exciting in the recent history of Australian archaeology, and as the biggest area of karst limestone in the world, the Nullarbor holds tantalizing archaeological prospects.
