This article written for the encyclopedia of sociology of youth describes the thesaurus concept of socialization as it was developed by the research school of sociology of youth at Moscow University for the Humanities. Applying the thesaurus approach to the theory of socialization helped formulate one of the most productive interpretations of socialization, which has a special significance for sociology of youth.
