A Bibliometric Analysis of the Publications of the Cluster of Excellence Image Knowledge Gestaltung in the Context of Research Assessment

In dieser Arbeit werden bibliometrische Indikatoren aus dem Zeitraum 2012/13 - 2015 des Exzellenzclusters der Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin "Bild Wissen Gestaltung - Ein interdisziplinares Labor" untersucht. Dabei wird die Abdeckung der Publikationen in den Zitationsdatenbanken Google Scholar (GS) und Web of Science (WoS) gemessen. Es wird untersucht, ob die Publikationen in Google Scholar und Web of Science ausreichend indiziert sind, damit bibliometrische Indikatoren fur eine Forschungsevaluation herangezogen werden konnen.%%%%This thesis presents bibliometric data of the Cluster of Excellence (Cluster) “Image Knowledge Gestaltung. An interdisciplinary Laboratory” (BWG). In order to conduct a bibliometric analysis, this study attempts to measure the coverage of the publications of the Cluster in the citation databases Google Scholar (GS) and Web of Science (WoS). The question arises, if the publications of BWG are covered extensively enough in citation databases, to assess the research center with bibliometric indicators. Further, the thesis provides insights of the research performance of the Cluster by analyzing the publication data with bibliometric calculations.
