Target of blood pressure control and drug selection in patients with hemodialysis

Hypertension is a common complication in patients with maintenance hemodialysis.Long-term hypertension is closely related to increased mortality in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Hence, antihypertensive therapy plays an important role in the overall treatment. The target of antihypertensive therapy remains controversial. The author suggests that the target should be individualized. Selection of suitable dialysis modes is an important measure for anti-hypertension treatment. As most patients undergoing hemodialysis require two or more kinds of antihypertensive drugs to control blood pressure, reasonable choice of antihypertensive drugs is essential.
