New mid-IR nonlinear optical crystal: CdSiP 2

We report for the first time the phase matching properties of a new negative uniaxial crystal, CdSiP 2 , which can be pumped at 1 or 1.5 microns to generate mid-IR output in the 2-9 mum spectral range.
