Undecamethylcyclohexasilane derivatives of group IV elements and manganese

The early transition metal silyl complexes (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 M(Si 6 Me 11 )Cl (M = Ti, Zr) were prepared from the dichlorides (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 MCl 2 and KSi 6 Me 11 . The manganese-silyl complex Si 6 Me 11 Mn(CO) M was also synthesized from (CO) 5 MnBr and KSi 6 Me 11 . The zirconium derivative reacted with MeLi to give (η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 Zr(Si 6 Me 11 )Me, O 2 to give the silylether (Si 6 Me 11 ) 2 O and with H 2 O/CH 3 OH to produce Si 6 Me 11 H and [(η 5 -C 5 H 5 ) 2 ZrCl] 2 O. The spectroscopic properties of these derivatives are reported.
