This article describes methods of teaching pupils with defective hearing that entails search of the best education ways. One of such methods is presented to help literary development of junior school pupils. Taking into consideration the society requirements to education of readers having knowledge of national culture and at the same time the absense of new approaches to literary education of hard of hearing pupils of junior school, a neccesity of working out theoretical theses of primary phase of literary education arises. In the article the main conceptual approaches to literary education of pupils with defective hearing in the system of primary education are highlighted.
