The invention provides a filler neck (10) for a fuel tank with the following features available: the filler neck (10) has a front sealing flap (15) for sealing the fuel tank and with the front sealing flap (15) connected to the display (18, 19, 22 ) on; the front sealing flap (15) is mounted such that a nozzle (20) pushes open the front sealing flap (15) when the dispensing valve (20) fully into the filler neck is inserted (10); the front sealing flap (15) is spring loaded such that the front sealing flap (15) closes automatically when the dispensing valve (20) from the filler neck (10) is pulled; and the filler neck (10) is configured such that the display (18, 19, 22) indicative of whether the front sealing flap (15) is opened or closed. The invention further provides a correspondingly equipped motor vehicle.
