Fe-al alloy having intermediate binding layer with fe-al or fe-al alloy, and manufacturing process thereof

2006
An Fe-Al alloy body comprising a steel workpiece covered with Al or Al alloy and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent galvanic corrosion being generated when the outer surface of the Al workpiece comes in contact with other metals by simultaneously forming an Al-Fe alloy layer between a steel workpiece and an Al workpiece using a DC(Direct Current) and forming an insulating layer on an outer surface layer of the Al workpiece. A manufacturing method of an Fe-Al alloy body comprising a steel workpiece covered with Al or Al alloy comprises electrolyzing a cathode of a stainless steel workpiece and an anode of a workpiece coated to a thickness of at least 50 mum with an Al melt at a current density of 0.6 to 3 A/dm^2 by using a direct current with 200 to 360 V and an electrolyte solution with a pH of at least 10, thereby simultaneously melting Fe and Al at a temperature of 700 to 900 deg.C to form an Fe-Al alloy layer(3) formed between the steel workpiece and the Al or Al alloy and form an electric insulating layer(4) comprising FeAl and Fe3Al on the Al or Al alloy, wherein the Al melt is manufactured on the steel workpiece by hot dipping to alloy aluminum(Al) or aluminum(Al) alloy(2) with steel(Fe) on a surface of a steel(Fe) workpiece(1) comprising 0.2 wt.% or less of carbon(C).
