Modification of the Terminal Control Algorithm for Descent under “Magnified” Disturbances after Returning from the Moon

2020
The task of guidance of a spacecraft, returning from the Moon, to a given landing area, under an effect of “magnified” disturbing factors, is considered. The earlier developed terminal algorithm for control of the descent from a near-Earth orbit was substantially modified, as applied to skip trajectories, with two entries into Earth’s atmosphere, in order to meet the given restrictions on landing accuracy, load factor, and propellant consumption. The modified version of the algorithm includes the “separate” logic of adaptation to the real conditions of motion, with measuring the components of apparent acceleration. The reliability of results is confirmed by a large volume of statistical tests.
