Excitation of nuclear ΔA∗-resonances in deep inelastic electron scattering

Abstract The Δ electroexcitation in nuclei is described by the excitation of the eigenmodes of the corresponding many baryon system, leading to a sizeable contribution to the nuclear response function in the dip region and indicating the importance of ΔN dynamics beyond a quasifree picture.
