Analysis of VOC in Soils with a Tin Oxide Multisensor System

1996
A field measurement system for analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in soils is presented. The measuring system is based on a tin oxide sensor array that has been characterized in laboratory to be used as reference for future in situ measurements. High sensitivity values to VOC have been obtained. With data from the characterization, the discrimination between three VOC families has been achieved by a parametric pattern recognition method A multivariate linear regression technique has been used to determine quantitatively the components of a four VOC gas mixture.
