Copper (II) and Palladium (II) Complexes with 1,3-bis-[3-(5-Amino-1,2,4-Triazolyl]triazene and Halogeno (Pseudohalogeno) Ligands: Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization

1994
Abstract The title ligand (hereafter abbreviated as BATTH) is composed of a triazenic and two triazolic functional groups. The synthesis of metal complexes of general formula [M(BATT)X] (M=Cu(II), X=CI, Br, I, SCN, CN; M=Pd(II), X=CI, Br), and of the intermediate product [Cu(BATT)H2O]NO3 are reported. These complexes (including 15N isotopes) are characterized by IR, micro-Raman, NMR (1H,13C) and UV-visible spectroscopies. From these results, it is proposed that BATT-adopts a terdentate-planar mode of coordination involving the two triazole cycles and the N2 atom of the triazenido group, which appears as a new type of coordination for this group.
