Cloning of the gene encoding milbemycin C-5-O-methyltransferase

The mainly object is to clone the gene which encodes milbemycin C5-O-methyltransferase.The most part of aveD gene homologous region in positive clone (22)g-8-E-10 was found located in 0 3kb SstI-Bg1Ⅱ fragment by southern hybridization analysis using aveD as probe.ave D homologous region DNA sequencing analysis and the gene deletion analysis in this area showed there is a gene here named milD which is homologous to aveD.Like aveD,milD is involved in the biosynthesis of milbemycin and probably catalyses the methylation of the hydroxyl group at C5 position of milbemycin compounds.
