Furosemide I.V. Test to Check Distal Acidification. Normal Values in Adults

1987
Furosemide (F) increases urinary acidification mediated, at least, by the increase of distal Na delivery. It is possible that other mechanisms also play a significant role. The test of F administration by I.V. route has been described for Distal Renal Tubular Acidosis (DTRA) diagnosis and classification, but there are few publications where normal values have been reported. In this paper we study the results of this test in 22 healthy adults.
