High frequency coil and magnetic resonance image pickup device

To provide a technology whereby both wide sensitivity region and high sensitivity at deep area are achieved without complicating the configuration, and both high speed and high image qualities are achieved in an multichannel array coil for an MRI device. Provided is an RF coil (array coil) for a magnetic resonance image pickup device that is provided with a plurality of sub-coils. At least one of the sub-coils is a first sub-coil having, as one sub-coil, a resonance frequency that is different from a magnetic resonance frequency. The first sub-coil is adjusted such that the first sub-coil resonates at a frequency equal to the magnetic resonance frequency by being magnetically coupled to at least one second sub-coil, i.e., another sub-coil. An input/output terminal of the first sub-coil and that of the second sub-coil are connected to different low input/output impedance signal processing circuits, respectively.
