An Ethereum-Based Chain for Diagnosis and Control of Covid-19

Today, with Covid-19 vaccination ramping up across the world, hopes are rising that the end of the pandemic is in sight. But masks and social distancing are still essential tools to control the pandemic. Given that maintaining distance and avoiding crowds is a solution that could not be done in many cases, the purpose of this paper is to use blockchain to avoid an influx of people suspected of having Covid-19 to medical centers and maintain social distance. Our proposed solution is in fact a decentralized application (DAPP) using several smart contracts that would be implemented on the platform of Ethereum and using Ether digital currency. To the best of our knowledge, this research is the first study that aims to avoid crowded and maintain social distance in the medical centers and proposes a safe and low-risk diagnosis chain based on the Ethereum blockchain to diagnose and control Covid-19. The advantage of the proposed diagnosis chain is the increase in the accuracy of the final diagnosis using the consensus of doctors. Moreover, the next advantage includes the entrance of health insurance into the diagnosis chain system is executed automatically in order to avoid bureaucratic processes that are energy and time-consuming. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
