‘Taim Bilong Uni’: Ken Inglis at the University of Papua New Guinea

2017
AbstractFrom 1967 to 1975 Ken Inglis worked at the University of Papua New Guinea, first as Professor of History then as vice-chancellor. It was a pivotal time in the history of the university and Papua New Guinea: in September 1975, Australia withdrew as a colonial power and Papua New Guinea became independent. This article examines Ken’s career and influence at the University of Papua New Guinea, subjects about which he and others have written little.
