Retos e incertidumbres del proceso de transformación digital de la economía y de la sociedad

The aim of this work is to point out the importance, power and speed that the digital transformation of society is acquiring, in order to visualize its transcendence and the advent of a new model of intelligent society. To this end, the main components of this digital society are analysed; and the paper focuses on two technological areas with special implications in the process of digital transformation, such as blockchain technology and artificial intelligence, that are specifically discussed. From this overall picture, analysis of issues and controversies arising from the digital transformation of society and economy is addressed, and special reference is made to the regulatory challenges of technological development, with particular attention to the issue of data protection, control of the power of the big technology companies and the complex regulatory issues that originate with blockchain, with robotics and with artificial intelligence.
