The determination of titanium in iron and steel by atomic absorption spectrometry
1975
A method has been developed for the determination of titanium by atomic absorption spectrometry in a wide range of iron and steels containing <1% aluminium. Interferences are overcome by the addition of aluminium to sample and standard solutions. The accuracy and reproducibility of the method have been established at the 0.05,0.15 and 0.50% levels with British Chemical Standard samples. The procedure is time-saving, particularly as aluminium may be determined on the same initial 2% (wv) sample solution.
