The 21st Century Employment Relationship: Aligning HR & CSR through Employment Policies & Practices

This Symposium will be a conversation on defining the 21st century employment relationship between scholars and practitioners from human resources, law, and management, particularly corporate social responsibility (CSR), who are interested in re-conceptualizing the notion of “employee CSR.x In particular, this Symposium will address the importance of firms “practicing what they preachx or, more formally, the alignment between employment policies (“what they sayx) and employment practices (“what they dox), and how this affects a broad notion of “employee CSR.x In an increasingly interconnected world, a firm's misalignment between such factors can't stay secret for long thanks to the likes of Glassdoor and other websites or rankings where applicants, current employees, and former employees can anonymously review their employment experience.
