The synthesis of new complexes of rhenium(I) with heterotridentate [P,N,O] ligands

Abstract The reaction of Re(CO) 5 Br with phosphorus-containing heterotridentate ligands HL n prepared by the condensation of 2-(diphenylphosphino)aniline with salicylaldehyde (HL 1 ), 5-chlorosalicylaldehyde (HL 2 ), 5-bromosalicylaldehyde (HL 3 ), 5-nitrosalicylaldehyde (HL 4 ), 5-methoxysalicylaldehyde (HL 5 ) and 3-methoxysalicylaldehyde (HL 6 ) yields complexes fac -(η 3 -L n - P , N , O )Re(CO) 3 , where L represents the deprotonated heterotridentate ligand. These complexes are characterized by spectroscopic and crystallographic techniques.
