The Effects of Tirofiban on TIMI Flow and Clinical Prognosis in Patients with STEMI during Primary PCI

2008
Objective:To evaluate the effect of tirofiban on thombolysis in myocardial infarction(TIMI)flow and clinical prognosis in patients with St segment elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI)before and after primary Percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Methods:Forty-six patients with STEMI who underwent primary PCI were randomly divided into two group of threapy(n=24)and the control group(n=22).TIMI flow, the clinical outcomes were compared before and after primary PCI.Results:Group of therapy was superior to control group in terms of TIMI flow grade,ST segment resolution and ejection fraction at 7 days after PCI,The in-hospital major adverse cardiac events(MACE)and death rate, peaks of cTnl were similar between the groups. Conclusion:The application of tirofiban before PCI is associated with superior clinical prognosis compared with the after PCI in patieats with STEMI undergoing primary PCI.
