Effects of Angelica sinensis polysaccharides on erythrocyte immune function in chickens

2011
Object: To observe the influence of Angelica sinensis polysaccharides(ASP) on the immune function of healthy Roman chicken. Methods: Eighty one-day-old chickens were randomly divided into four groups with each group of 20 chickens. Then, group 2-4 was hypodermically injected with different concentration of ASP for seven days continuously, and blood sample was collected on the 7th,14th,21st,28th,35th,42nd,49th and 56th to evaluate the immune function of red blood cell in chickens. Results: The RBC-C3b rosette rate and RBC-IC rosette rate were all increased after the use of ASP.Chickens treated with 25 mg/mL of ASP were higher on RBC-C3b rosette rate and RBC-IC rosette rate than others. Conclusion: ASP could promote the immune function of erythrocytes in chicken with an optimal dosage of 25 mg/mL.
