Left ventricular hypertrophy and spontaneous rupture of the Achilles tendon after anabolic steroids in bodybuilder

Anabolic steroids remain popular among body builders and power athletes despite numerous warnings about their side effects. Athletes use androgenic-anabolic steroids to increase strength and muscle mass. Several case reports suggest that it may lead to dilated cardiomyopathy [1]. In this paper, a case of spontaneous rupture of the Achilles tendon and left ventricular hypertrophy in a bodybuilder steroids taking is presented.
