The effect of Lasianthus fardii Hance on duck hepatitis B.

2010
[Objective] To study the effect of the ethanolic extract of Lasianthus fardii Hance on duck hepatitis B,and provide a possible experimental basis for developing a new drug for the treatment of hepatitis B.[Methods] Sixty DHBV posi-tive ducklings were screened by Fluorescence Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction(FQ-PCR).The infected ducks were di-vided into five groups randomly by lamination stochastic method of distribution.Six groups were administered intragastricly with high-dose ethanolic extract,middle-dose ethanolic extract,low-dose ethanolic extract of Lasianthus fardii Hance,acyclovir(ACV),model-control and normal-control.There were 12 ducklings in every group, and the ducklings had been treated for 14 days. The quantity of DHBV DNA,DHBsAg,ALT and AST in serum were detected before treatment(T0),7days(T7)and 14days(T14)after treatment, and 5 days after stopping treatment(P5).Liver histopathological examination was done on the 5th days after stopping the treatment.[Results] The amount of DHBV DNA and DHBsAg in serum were not obviously differ-ence between treatment group and the control group(P﹥0.05).The activity of ALT and AST was not obviously difference when all of the treatment groups was compared with the model-control group after treatment(P﹥0.05).No obvious difference was ob-served in the liver pathological examination among these six groups.[Conclusion] The three dose of the ethanolic extract of Lasianthus fardii Hance could not inhibit the replication of DHBV and protect the liver function which was damaged by DHBV.
