High resolution Compton telescope for the 21st century

The properties of Compton scatter telescopes are examined in the light of possible developments in high energy and spatial resolution detectors. Improvements in spectral resolution produce detector systems with sensitivities to gamma ray emission lines which improve proportionately with improvements in spectral resolution.
