Clinical Analysis of Endoscopic Transnasal Dacryocystorhinostomy in 37 Patients with Chronic Dacryocystitis

Objective To study the curative effect in treating chronic dacryocystitis by endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy.Methods In total,there were 37(42eyes)patients who suffered chronic dacryocystitis has been subjected to endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy from January 2003to June 2012.Their clinical data were analyzed,and the effect of the surgery was evaluated.Results All patients were followed-up for more than half ayear.There were 32cases(37eyes)were cured,4cases(4eyes)were obviously improved,only 1case(1eye) was failed.Conclusion Endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy is an effective surgical method to treat chronic dacryocystitis.Management of rhinosinusal disorders and postoperative follow-up are crucial for the success of endoscopic transnasal dacryocystorhinostomy.
