Graphene based Anomalous Reflection at Microwave frequencies

Graphene ribbon based metasurface is studied to control the wavefront of microwaves at around 3.5 GHZ, during the working frequency of the 5th generation wireless systems. By using chemical vapor deposition (CVD)-grown single layer or multilayer graphene (SLG and MLG), the reflection property of the element with an opposite phase and uniform amplitude are obtained. Based on which, anomalous reflection is realized, and the angle of reflected beam can be efficiently controlled up to 55° by changing graphene sheet resistance.
