A Semi-Blind Information Hiding Technique Using DWT-SVD and QAM-16 for Medical Images

In this paper, we propose a new image watermarking scheme for medical applications. Textual data are inserted into the original medical images based singular value decomposition (SVD) after discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Specifically, Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM-16) is used for encoding text characters. Furthermore, Arnold Transform is used to make the watermark more secure before embedding it into the host image. The experimental results show that the proposed watermarking system ensures good imperceptibility and high robustness against various disturbances.
