Sensitivity of Plutella xylostella to fifteen insecticides in Guiyang.

2015
【Objective】The resistance level of Plutella xylostella populations to fifteen insecticides in Guiyang were analyzed in order to provide references for prevention and control of diamondback moth. 【Method】Sensitivity of Plutella xylostella populations in cabbage vegetable field in Guiyang and susceptible population to fifteen insecticides were de-termined by leaf dip method in the laboratory. 【Result 】The field population of diamondback moth was relatively sensitive to chlorantraniliprole, metaflumizone, fipronil bisamides, spinetoram and veratridine(resistance ratio 3.0), but developed different degrees of resistance to the other 10 insecticides, in which diamondback moth had the highest level resistance to cyhalothrin and phoxim(resistance ratio of 352.1005 and 164.0557), reaching a sky-high level. 【Conclusion】Chlorantraniliprole is recommended as the preferred insecticide to control diamondback moth in Guiyang, followed by fipronil bisamides, spinetoram and metaflumizone. But because of its less toxicity, veratridine should be less used or mixed with other insecticides.
