Provided is a peptide substrate for protease comprising the amino acid sequence of Gly-Xaa-Yaa (where Xaa is any amino acid selected from Phe, Leu, Ile, and Trp, and Yaa is any amino acid selected from Tyr, His, Ser, and Gly) as the substrate that is specifically severed by neutral protease produced by Clostridium histolyticum .
